After the Last Market Saturday: Lake Oswego's Calendar From Halloween to the Tree Lighting

October 22, 2026

This Saturday, October 31, is the last day of the Lake Oswego Farmers' Market's 25th season. Since May 9 it has run every Saturday except July 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Millennium Plaza Park. That works out to 25 market Saturdays. After this one, the plaza stops being a weekly habit. For the next eight weeks it hosts a few specific events instead, and the most important two fall six days apart around Thanksgiving.

So the useful thing to know about Lake Oswego this November is which weekends to keep open and what fills in the weeks between them.

October 31 is two events in one afternoon

The last market keeps its usual setup. The City of Lake Oswego's market page lists live music from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Farm Fresh Kids Program, and SNAP matching of up to $20 a week. Vendors pack up at 1:30 p.m.

Half an hour later, Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation opens its 2026 Monster Mash at Christ Church Parish, 1060 Chandler Road. It runs from 2 to 5 p.m., it's free, and it's for kids ages 0 to 12. That puts the season's last morning at the plaza and the city's Halloween afternoon on the same Saturday, with a short gap between them. Families with young kids can do both and still be home before trick-or-treating gets going.

The first two Saturdays of November have no market downtown

November 7 and November 14 are the first plaza-free Saturdays since spring. Two nearby markets open their winter seasons on November 7, the week right after Lake Oswego closes. That makes it easy to keep the Saturday routine going if you're willing to drive.

The options, by day:

  1. Oregon City Farmers Market, Saturdays. Its 2026–27 winter market runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Clackamas Community College's Green Lot #1, near S. Beavercreek Road and Clairmont Drive. It meets November 7, 14, and 21 and December 5, 12, and 19. It's closed November 28, December 26, and January 2, then meets two Saturdays a month through April 17, 2027. The Oregon City Farmers Market schedule runs the longest of the three, into mid-April.
  2. Portland Farmers Market at PSU, Saturdays. The PSU market at SW Park Avenue and Montgomery Street runs year-round. Its winter Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from November 7, 2026, through March 2027, and it's closed December 26. Details are on the Portland Farmers Market's PSU page.
  3. Hillsdale Farmers Market, Sundays. It's the closest of the three in SW Portland, and it isn't a Saturday market. The Hillsdale Farmers Market holds weekly markets through November 22, then two Sundays a month from December through March. The winter Sundays are December 6 and 20, January 10 and 24, February 7 and 21, and March 7 and 21. The market lists its address as 1405 SW Vermont St. and says it now sets up in front of Rieke Elementary School, 350 feet south of its old spot in the same parking lot.

Hillsdale's weekly season ends November 22, the day after Lake Oswego's own one-day return. So the Saturday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after it are both market days within a short drive.

November 21 is the market's one-day encore

On Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the 2026 Reunion Farmers' Market brings back many of the regular season's vendors to Millennium Plaza Park. The City pitches it plainly as food "fresh from local farms to your Thanksgiving table." It lists pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms, along with live music and local artisans.

The timing matters. The Reunion market comes five days before Thanksgiving, which falls on November 26 this year. That makes it the last chance to buy holiday produce from the same vendors who have stood in the plaza since May. It also opens half an hour later and runs half an hour longer than the regular season's 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

November 27 lights the same plaza

Six days later, on Friday, November 27, the plaza fills again for the 62nd Annual Tree Lighting Festival, presented by the City of Lake Oswego and the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce. It runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at Millennium Plaza Park, 200 First Street, and the Millennium Tree lights at 5:30 p.m.

The City's lineup:

  • A holiday marketplace with local food, artists, makers, and holiday-themed vendors
  • A Local Winery Row
  • Photos with Santa
  • Reindeer from Timberview Farm
  • Letters to Santa, written with the Lake Oswego Police Department
  • Performances by the Lake Oswego High School and Lakeridge High School show choirs
  • Music from the Millennium Concert Band

In a way, the holiday marketplace picks up where the farmers' market left off. Local vendors set up in the same park, at night instead of in the morning. The Reunion market on November 21 and the tree lighting on November 27 fall on either side of Thanksgiving, both in the same park.

The weeks between, at a glance

Here is the full stretch from this Saturday through mid-December. Downtown dates come first on each line, then the options farther afield.

Lakewood carries the evenings through December

Once the plaza goes quiet, most of the downtown calendar moves indoors, and Lakewood Center fills the most dates. Lakewood Theatre Company's production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas runs November 6 through December 20. Shows are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with added Wednesday evening shows on November 18 and December 16 at 7:30 p.m. The run starts the Friday before the first market-free Saturday and keeps going past the last tree-lighting weekend, so it covers the whole gap.

The center's fundraiser, Lakewood in City Lights, is Saturday, November 14, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Ironlight Event Center, 525 3rd St. It gives that market-free Saturday a downtown evening event.

December's smaller dates

The Lake Oswego Public Library's December calendar has two seasonal programs. Memories of a Czech Christmas with Mark and Helena Greathouse is Tuesday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m. The Winter Art Workshop with Drawn2Art is Friday, December 11, at 11 a.m.

That same weekend, the Willamette Shore Trolley's events page lists Tinsel Town Trolley rides with Santa on December 11 to 13, managed by Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation. The page currently marks the event sold out and doesn't list ride times. Families hoping to go should check it directly before planning around it.

Hillsdale's first winter Sunday market, December 6, falls between the library's two programs. After that, the nearest Saturday market options for the rest of the winter are Oregon City and PSU. Lake Oswego's own market comes back to Millennium Plaza Park in the spring.
